Be comfortable with a camera. Your advantage is in your preparation. Install a camera at the eye level and do some practice rounds. This will help you reveal and fix your mistakes.
Make sure that your Internet connection is stable. It would be silly and quite disappointing to freeze with an open mouth or to miss a question you have a good answer to. It would be even worse to get logged out of the conference.
Choose the lighting. This is not the best time to act as a mysterious dark figure lurking in the shadows of your room. Instead, face the window or turn on the light in front of you.
Choose a plain background. Bright posters behind your back look beautiful, but remember that it is an interview with a potential employer. A plain background will look more professional.
Use earphones. Connect using a headset — it suppresses extra noise and doesn’t cause an audio feedback loop.
Warn your roommates and family Ask those who living with you to be considerate, try to keep the noise levels downand not to enter your room.
Dress professionally. Don’t go too far — wearing a black tie in an apartment might be too much. We suggest going for a smart casual look. And don’t forget to wear pants!
Keep track of time. Be prepared that your interview time will be limited: you are unlikely to be given over three minutes to answer a question (and sometimes there is only one minute). So try to focus on a clear and structured narrative.
