our mentees about their mentorship program experience
"We had two meetings, they were incredibly useful! Unfortunately, now I have slightly different focus in my research, but as soon as I finish my current tracks, we will continue going through the discussed path"
Artem Galliamov
MSc Petroleum Engineering, 2022
"I enjoy the program, this is a very useful acquaintance. We had one online meeting, once we met in person and I had a chance to address my mentor questions multiple times"
Danil Ivanov
MSc Advanced Computational Science, 2024
"My mentor is a very supportive person. Actually, I arranged only one dedicated meeting with him, he provided a lot of helpful ideas and insights. He also offered me a help in reviewing my CV and online portfolio (github)"
Samra Abdulaziz
MSc Data Science, 2024
"We had 2 online calls and also we shared some messages after them. The mentor had definitely answered many questions of mine, and I refer to his guidance after months. He shared insights and tips, for which I am grateful. I acquired a better understanding of the academic communication and career. The mentor had replied to my requests through several months. He was kind in communication, motivating, and open in ideas. The calls started from a short chat, which were helpful in creating a comfortable atmosphere. I am surely happy I had an opportunity to communicate with that mentor"
Nikita Kurdiukov
MSc Internet of Things and Wireless Technologies
"We have 2 meetings and still in contact in Telegram. We discuss different track Industrial, academic and hybrid and Katya share a lot of her own notes about companies and how to find you way.
Katya Kondrateva helped me a lot with understanding how to move forward in my career and what can be problems with both companies and the academy. She is very meticulous in her Notion document, where she describes all possible companies, their advantages, and advice on choosing an academic advisor and direction. It was also a huge plus that I have a very similar background and field of activity, which helped me to find a common language and full understanding. It would be awesome if all mentors do mentorship as good as Katya do!"
Ruslan Kalimullin
MSc Life Sciences, 2024
"Yes, there was one meeting with a mentor during which he gave me several advices how to search for the company. Also he checked my CV and gave me the contact of the head of Skoltech space startup that was the most useful part for me. As the mentor was not working in the space sector he wasn't able to help me a lot, but he was asking me several times after the call about the progress in company searching"
Ilya Novikov
MSc Engineering Systems, 2024
"I had 5 meetings or more with my mentor, who gave me useful advice, unique opportunity to know my field inside and go deeper, also, she supports me and motivate a lot, and moreover, showed how she applied knowledge that I need to use. She is an awesome mentor. By the way, today we have our meeting to discuss my progress☺️"

our mentors about their mentorship program experience
I had two meetings with my mentee. She is a kind and nice person! Surprisingly her request is the request I had when I was a master's student, therefore I have a lot of thoughts to share with her!
Throughout our calls, we broke down her requests into several blocks and created a plan on how to meet her goals for every block. We have also created the schedule of upcoming calls and topics for each call (we are about to have five calls in total.) So, I want to help her to reach her goals systematically!
Even though we have just begun, I see, how my mentee enjoys our sessions! She says, they are fruitful for her, but they are also fruitful for me! Surprisingly, some things that are obvious to me could be essential for my mentee. Therefore, I also enjoy sharing my academic and professional experience!
That is why I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this mentorship program! =)
Alexander Menshchikov
I met with both my students,
Both are very kind persons, The first one already thanked me and said that the meeting helped him a lot. I think the second one needs more help and advice from me, I think we will meet a few times more.
I also feel that I'm helping this guys and it is great, I believe it was a really cool idea for mentorship!🤗
Nikita Drobyshev
I had three live meetings, nice and productive. I think it was useful but may be some things were too difficult for my mentee due to the absence of job experience. We are staying in touch
Anna Zhdanova
Currently, I am doing my PhD at Delft University of Technology. I completed my masters from Skoltech in 2022.
Earlier this year, I participated in this pilot mentorship program by Skoltech. And I can say that my experience was generally quite fulfilling and positive. I met with two masters students and answered their questions about PhD and PhD applications in particular. The whole program was designed in a very structured fashion. Every step along the way, you can provide the feedback and also receive the feedback and Anna did a very good job to ensure everything ran smoothly. I can say that, the program was totally not time consuming for me, and I really felt happy and satisfied to be of some help to my mentees.
